Composition books, 1853-1858.

William Hadden Riley's first composition book contains prose essays, including the valedictory address at South Western State Normal School, Feb. 12, 1859. The second book consists of primarily poetry and of tributes by fellow students, including William H. Venable, written after Riley's death Oct. 27, 1859.
